Sub-Groups for LinkedIn

Posted on December 23, 2011. Filed under: News and Updates | Tags: , , |

After some planning for a month, and a few meetings, we have a new sub-group launched on LinkedIn today as “Entrepreneurs’ Network”.

The network will not only bring together the UH Alumnus Students and Staff, it will also include current students. LinkedIn is all about ‘Connecting talent with opportunity at massive scale’. As per the recent statistics released by LinkedIn, there are more than 6.5M+ students globally who are registered and 9M+ recent college graduates globally (Graduated between 2008 and 2011). The attractiveness to this network is perhaps possibility of connecting with the existing networks of professionals. This overrides the success of many new portals for showcasing that have few professionals on them already.

Coming back to theEntrepreneurs’ Network” on LinkedIn, there will be involvement from all staff, students, departments and alumni to share their expertise to promote Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. The UH Enterprise team organises events and Flare Business Idea Challenge for students. The idea is to get the enterprising students on the Network and give them an opportunity to connect with the successful Alumni. Hence the UH Enterprise team, Alumni team and the UHSU Entrepreneurial Society will all be sharing this LinkedIn space to build a network and community of Entrepreneurs.

Watch this space for progress on the group as we implement some of the content strategies for LinkedIn.

Have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
