Social Media Tracking tools

The site champions indeed detailed out the fundamentals behind the setup of groups through to content for the social media. The Linkedin Administrators, who are a part of the Marketing team, manage the groups on a daily basis and the academics, career guidance officers, students and alumni contribute frequently.

The critical measurement criteria for the success of the project being the number of engagements and users of the Linkedin system, it was quite simple for me to start with listing the tools that can capture all this information. Having met the internal team members at the University of Hertfordshire, interesting encounters with tools have occurred.

SproutSocial is the answer to this social media management to measure the success. There are other management web portals available such as HootSuite and GoogleAlerts. The social media networking strategy for the University of Hertfordshire is focused around “What is valuable for the user?” and this drives the conversations, discussions and messages. As an example of Business School Alumni Network (by the way, the number of members on this network have increased to 610) the careers and jobs being posted by alumni and students being able to get placements.

The next few challenges will be around identifying content management strategies for sustainable communications in social media. This is where the insights shared by Ian will be implemented.

Some interesting groups for insights:

Any food for thought?
